ईक्षत्यधिकरणम् । IxatyadhikaraNam | 1.1.5 ईक्षतेनार्शबदम् । ईक्षतेः न अशब्दम् । IxatenArshabadam | IxateH na ashabdam | Seeing is not; it is not based on Scriptures. 1.1.6 गौणश्चेन्नातमशब्दात् । गौणः चेत् न आत्मशब्दात् । gauNashchennAtamashabdAt | gauNaH chet na AtmashabdAt | If secondary, then not, because of the word Atman. 1.1.7 तन्निष्ठस्य मोक्षोपदेशात् । तत् निष्ठस्य मोक्षोपदेशात् । tanniShThasya moxopadeshAt | tat niShThasya moxopadeshAt | From scriptural injuctions, salvation is for those devoted to That. 1.1.8 हेयत्वावचनाच्च । हेयत्व अवचनत् च । heyatvAvachanAchcha | heyatva avachanat cha | And because it is not stated, it has to be discarded. 1.1.9 स्वाप्ययात् । स्व अप्ययात् । svApyayAt | sva apyayAt | On account of merging

समन्वयाधिकरणम् । samanvayAdhikaraNam | 1.1.4 तत्तु समन्वयात् । तत् तु समन्वयात् । tattu samanvayAt | tat tu samanvayAt | But that is a consequence of harmony.

शास्त्रयोनित्वाधिकरणम् । shAstrayonitvAdhikaraNam | 1.1.3 शास्त्रयोनित्वात् । शास्त्र योनित्वात् । shAstrayonitvAt | shAstra yonitvAt | Scripture, being the source of Knowledge.

जन्माद्यधिकरणम् । janmAdyadhikaraNam | 1.1.2 जन्माद्यस्य यतः । जन्मादि अस्य यतः । janmAdyasya yataH | janmAdi asya yataH | From which, the origin of (all) this is.

जिज्ञासाधिकरणम् । jiGYAsAdhikaraNam | 1.1.1 अथातो ब्रह्मजिज्ञासा । अथ अतः ब्रह्मजिज्ञासा । athAto brahmajiGYAsA | atha ataH brahmajiGYAsA | Now therefore an inquiry into Brahman.
