Early Dates in Vedic Texts

An unbiased reading of the Vedic corpus will throw up some rather early dates. These early dates in Vedic texts are quite in keeping with the ancient historical traditions preserved in our Vedic heritage - however many Western indologists, and Leftist academicians disregard such early dates and prefer to follow timelines of the theoretical so-called Aryan Invasion Theory (a.k.a Arya Migration Theory or Aryan Trickle-In theory), hereinafter referred to as the AIT.

In this post I will try to answer this often asked question: " Why do Hindus worship cows? " For 7000 years or more ( some say 11,000 years ), since the days of Rig Veda , Hindus have been respecting and protecting cows. Go-hatya or the killing of cows was and continues to be a great offense for Hindus, as we consider Cows our mother, and therefore killing a cow is like killing our mother. Mahatma Gandhi said, “ One can measure the greatness of a nation and its moral progress by the way it treats its animals. Cow protection to me is not mere protection of the cow. It means protection of all that lives and is helpless and weak in the world. Definition of Vedas

In this post I will talk about the definition of Vedas according to different sources. The Vedas are a large body of sacred texts of Hindus some of which are more than 4000 years old. There are four Vedas: the Rigveda , the Yajurveda , the Samaveda and the Atharvaveda . #1 Defintion of Vedas as per Katyayana and Apastamba Katyayana as well as Apastamba define the Vedas as the combined texts of Mantras and the Brahmanas #2 Defintion of Vedas as per Sayanacharya As per Sayanacharya who lived in 14th century AD, in his commentary on the Aitareya Brahmana , the Vedas are a supernatural way to attain desired objects and to remove harmful things.
