ॐ धौः शान्तिरन्तरिक्षं शान्तिः पृथिवी शान्तिरापः शान्तिरोषधयः शान्तिः ।
वनस्पतयः शान्तिर्विश्वेदेवाः शान्तिर्ब्रह्म शान्तिः सर्वं शान्तिः शान्तिरेव शान्तिः ॥

তেজোঽসি তেজো ময়ি ধেহি বীর্যমসি বীর্য় ময়ি ধেহি| বলমসি বল ময়ি ধেহি| ওজোঽসি ওজো ময়ি ধেহি| মন্যুরসি মন্যুং ময়ি ধেহি | সহোঽসি সহো ময়ি ধেহি ||

तेजोऽसि तेजो मयि धेहि वीर्यमसि वीर्य मयि धेहि। बलमसि बल मयि धेहि। ओजोऽसि ओजो मयि धेहि। मन्युरसि मन्युं मयि धेहि । सहोऽसि सहो मयि धेहि ।।

tejo.asi tejo mayi dhehi vIryamasi vIrya mayi dhehi| balamasi bala mayi dhehi| ojo.asi ojo mayi dhehi | manyurasi manyuM mayi dhehi | saho.asi saho mayi dhehi ||

You who are Power fill me with power. You who are valor infuse valour into me. You who are strength give me strength. You who are the vital essence, endow me with vitality. You who are Wrath against wrong, install that in me. You are fortitude, instill me with Fortitude.

ॐ तच्चक्षुर्देवहितं पुरस्ताच्छ्कमुच्चरत् ।
पश्येम शरदः शतं जीवेम शरदः शतं
शृणुयाम शरदः शतं प्रब्रवाम शरदः शतं
अदीनाः स्यां शरदः शतं भूयश्च शरदः शतात् ॥

OM tachchakShurdevahitaM purastAchChkamuchcharat |
pashyema sharadaH shataM jIvema sharadaH shataM
shRRiNuyAma sharadaH shataM prabravAma sharadaH shataM
adInAH syAM sharadaH shataM bhUyashcha sharadaH shatAt ||

OM! That bright eye (in the form of the Sun) is high in front of us.
(With that eye as our guide) Let us see (properly) for hundred years, live for
hundred years, hear (properly) for hundred years, speak (properly) for
hundred years, be independent for hundred years, and again have all
these for hundred years.

The Adya Stotram / আদ্যা স্তোত্র / आद्या स्तोत्रम् , which is very popular in West Bengal, is a hymn in tribute to Adya Ma.  It has 20 shlokas in Sanskrit written in very simple language and talks about the greatness of Adya Ma and the benefits of understanding and reciting the stotram. The benefits of daily recitation of the Stotram are: Protection from death, sickness and fear Conceiving, for those women who are childless Protection from any danger during travel especially by water Protection during wars Protection during troubled times Receiving the same amount of blessing as going on holy pilgrimage Adya Ma is regarded as the physical form (manifestation) of Adya Shakti. Adya Shakti is the primary supreme force of Nature and is regarded as the force essential to the existence of the other forces on Nature. She is worshiped in the form of Goddess Kali.   Jagaddhatri also spelled as Jagadhatri (Devnagri: जगद्धात्री, Bengali: জগদ্ধাত্রী) literally means She Who Holds the World or the Protector of the World . She is a form of Devi Durga. She is highly revered in West Bengal, especially in Chandernagore (my ancestral home) which has the biggest celebration of Jagaddhatri Puja in India. People come from all parts of India to Chandannagar to enjoy the amazing light works and show. Other places where the Puja is celebrated with gusto are Bhadreshwar, Hooghly, Rishra and Krishnanagar.
